The Global Library & Literacy Campaign

I started the Global Library and Literacy Campaign in 2008 with the goal of providing library books or building libraries throughout the world. To date, we have donated and established libraries in Haiti, South Africa, Lesotho, Ghana, New Jersey, Washington, DC and Burlington, NC.

The Global Library and Literacy Campaign (GLLC) establishes and or develops the resources of libraries in schools, crèches (nursery schools/kindergartens) and community organizations in low-income areas in South Africa, the United States, and any other region that asks for our help in securing books and organizing lending and distribution systems that works for our partners.

The GLLC is designed to improve literacy and the love of reading; foster cross-cultural understanding among participants through a global book club and reading program; promote libraries as central to community development and the cornerstones of democratic ideals.

We work with interested community partners to offer tutorial and technological support to librarians, struggling readers and their families; and provide students with environments through which they can create and share original artistic pieces, such as poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and other works of art.
